Madonna and Guy Ritchie are getting a divorce. Are you surprised? Probably not because I don’t think anyone’s surprised about this one. Although there have been rumors for months and months and months about these two being headed for Splitsville, they actually started in March, when it was told that they would divorce but that Madonna wanted to make as much money as she could first. See here to read when we first told of their impending divorce. However, they continued to make ridiculous appearances and tried to come off as a happy couple. This absolutely disgusts me as it’s just one more way that celebrities have dangled a piece of information in front of us and then continually denied it - did I mention for months and months and months? I don’t mind that celebs like to keep some things on the down-low as it is their private lives and really, none of our business. But here’s an idea - keep your mouth shut about it until you make the official announcement! Not only that but outright lying to her fans by saying things such as ‘her marriage doesn’t need saving’ and denying that there are any problems is just disrespectful to her fans - of which I used to be one. It’s a shame that when there’s people out there trying to make an honest (and discreet) go of their marriage, such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, these two are making a mockery of the whole institution! “Guy Ritchie’s marriage is on the fritz, with the 50-year-old Queen of Pop and 40-year-old film director announcing their plans to divorce.

“Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after 7½ years of marriage,” their reps said in a joint statement. “They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time. A final settlement has not been agreed upon yet.”

“It is sad,” Madonna publicist Liz Rosenberg told E! News.

Per U.K. reports, Madonna has enlisted the services of celebrity divorce lawyer Fiona “Steel Magnolia” Shackleton, who supervised Paul McCartney’s split from Heather Mills.

Ritchie could make out quite nicely from their breakup, pocketing as much as $100 million of the popster’s estimated $500 million-plus fortune since the twosome did not have a prenuptial agreement.”

Okay, and I also didn’t realize that Madonna was stupid enough to not have a prenuptial agreement. I know love is blind but considering that she also went through a divorce with Sean Penn, she should know the ins and outs and what should be done before any marriage certificate is signed. Honestly, I think Madonna may have lost her mind on this one. I secretly hope that Guy makes out like a bandit on this one, which he most likely will, as the Material Girl has lost a fan on this one.

I think it’s so funny how the person in the wrong of a major relationship deal-breaker never wants to do anything to fix it. That certainly seems to be the case here with Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. I reported just days ago that they had been spotted around New York on several occasions lately and that Sarah Jessica just looks absolutely miserable. I commend her for trying to make a go of it even though she is clearly suffering but it seems that she has decided that she cannot do it alone. She has apparently decided that if she and Matthew are going to make it work, they need to bring in a third party counsellor and Matthew is not going for it. Literally. He’s playing like a child who has a big test at school and sticks his thermometer up to the lightbulb. From Celebitchy,

Okay, I don’t care what your wife is asking you, Matthew, do it!! The man cheats on her and instead of immediately packing up her and their son, James Wilke, which would be perfectly understandable, she decides to try and make it work. Like I said before, I applaud her for her efforts. But he can’t even give her that! I was really hoping that these two could work it out but it seems that what’s in Matthew’s pants here may not be the only problem. I think any man who truly wanted to fix his marriage would go, regardless of whether it made them uncomfortable or not. If he’s not even willing to go, I think it says more about the affair than it was just a sexual thing. There’s clearly something going on with Matthew other than him being a horndog and I think he’s getting something else from it that he’s not getting from his marriage. Here’s a hint: Go to counselling, Matthew, you may be surprised to find out that an objective person may be able to figure out a way for you to get what you need from your wife!

While the news of Matthew Broderick’s affair has died down some, he and wife, Sarah Jessica Parker still attempt to show that they are a very happily married couple as they stroll through the New York City streets. Parker may be trying to pump up her latest projects, as it was the same day that Sex and the City: The Movie came out on DVD that this pic was taken and Sarah Jessica was also celebrating the happy news that her other projects were going full-steam ahead as well! As for Parker’s artsy flick “Spinning Like Butter,” it sounds like it has finally found a home. Screen Media has licensed the rights to the “racially-charged” film, originally finished back in 2005, and is reportedly slating it for release early next year.”

I don’t know, does this look like a woman that is celebrating some great career moves? Ever since the news of the affair broke, she has looked incredibly unhappy to me and I really don’t give this marriage much longer. I have a nagging suspicion that they are both trying to stay together for their son, James Wilkie, but I don’t think that ever works. I hope she does leave him in the end, for her sake. You can tell just by looking at her that she’s not the same woman she used to be and everyone needs to stay true to themselves.

It was only a few weeks ago that it broke that Matthew Broderickhad cheated on his wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, after 11 years of marriage. The two try very much to stay out of the limelight and have their entire relationship but immediately after the story broke, the two went on a very public date and made several bad attempts at appearing like a happy couple. It seems that Sarah Jessica may have had enough of the pretending and can’t help but talk about how hurt she is. Celebitchy reports the Sex and the City actress as saying,

“Sarah Jessica Parker says she’d choose shoes over a guy – because they’re more dependable than men.

Talking about her Sex And The City character Carrie, the 43-year-old actress says: ‘She could probably count on a Manolo more than a man. So is it better than sex? Yes!’ she says.

And she says she has no problem walking in towering stilettos.

‘I could run a marathon in heels and wake up the next day and run another one,’ she tells Fabulous.”

Well that’s no surprise for anyone who has seen even one episode of the show. It’s too bad that Broderick turned out to be a cheater too. It really seemed as though they were one of a few celebrity couples that can keep it real and stay true to each other. I think it’s sad that after 11 years of marriage and a child together, that Sarah Jessica has found herself in this situation. Maybe she should write about it…that’s how Carrie always seemed to solve her problems and she could have fun stepping back into her shoes!

I saw a headline in a magazine that shall remain nameless early in the week claiming that Matthew Broderick, husband to Sarah Jessica Parker, and father to their son, James Wilkie, had an affair with a younger woman. I immediately dismissed it as crap just because these two seem like one of those couples that just seem to make it in the crazy world of Hollywood. But now, they have made a point of being seen out in public after the allegations were made and this makes me question the story once again but I’m now wondering if it’s true. It always seems highly suspicious to me when stars protest too much. From the Daily Mail,

The Sex And The City actress instead let her actions do the talking, going for a romantic –and very public - meal with the allegedly errant husband, actor Matthew Broderick.

The rare joint appearance came as Parker, 43, tries to fend off rumours that Broderick had a series of late-night liaisons with a woman of 25 while his wife was away filming the Sex And The City movie.

Reports say he met the woman in a bar in New York last November and told her his 11-year marriage was ‘not good’.

But Parker and Broderick put on a united front as they dined in New York this week, the first time they have been seen together since news of the alleged affair broke last month.

The couple usually go to extreme lengths to ensure they are not pictured together.

Broderick, 46, is especially private. He even chose to stay away from the world premiere of the Sex And The City film in London. However, on Wednesday he was happy to pose for photographers as he put his arm around his wife.

The pair are reported to be trying to save their marriage for the sake of their son, five-year-old James Wilkie.”

While I would love it if these two ended up together in the end, staying in a marriage for the sake of the kids (or kid, in this case) is never a good idea. The couple ends up splitting anyway and the kids are even more screwed up than they would have been if the pair had just ended things when they had fallen out of love. It is definitely sad news though and hopefully they can work it out and still remain in love, just as husband and wife should be. As an interesting side note, the reason they may avoid getting pictures taken together is because apparently, Matthew can’t take a good photo. This was the best of the bunch that were taken.
