We all know that Matt McConaughey has been the most super excited dad that Hollywood has seen in a long time. He has openly spoken about what happened in the delivery room and about how he and Camila Alves were a team in the delivery room and he was rocking and cheering (which he compared to a chant) during the long and hard labor. But there’s excitement and then there’s just plain eeeewwwww. It seems as though McConaughey doesn’t want to let those delivery room memories go as he is planning on having his new son, Levi’s, placenta buried in his orchard. Gross. From Ecorazzi.com,

“New dad Matthew McConaughey is planning to follow a ritual common in some cultures of planting the placenta of a new born. The idea is that the tree is a constant reminder of the child’s life on this planet — growing year by year right along with the newborn. McConaughey, whose girlfriend Camila Alves gave birth to their son Levi in July, saved the placenta after becoming inspired to do so after a trip to Australia.

“When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river … and all the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength,” the actor said in an interview.”

I don’t understand this and I know many people will think that it’s a beautiful ritual but I really do just think it’s gross. And who wants to look at that while they’re planting it? Have you ever seen a placenta? It’s absolutely disgusting! If Matt wants to stay true to his hippie/surfer dude personality, why doesn’t he simply plant a tree in the orchard that can be Levi’s special tree and grow along with him? This is a beautiful way to acknowledge something very special without having to partake in extremely gross and weird activities. I just don’t understand how using something that was inside the mother as fertilizer is beautiful.

Shortly after his son’s birth, and by shortly I mean an hour or two, Matt McConaughey proposed to his girlfriend Camila Alves! Apparantly Matt was very emotional as he held his new bundle of joy and realized, as most new parents do I think, that all that matters in the world is right in the same room as you. “Hollywood playboy Matthew McConaughey has been tamed at last! And all it took was a tiny 7 pound, 4 ounce baby boy to finally persuade the “Fool’s gold” star to say goodbye to his bachelor days. Matthew popped the question to Brazilian stunner Camila Alves, 25, just hours after she gave birth to their son, Levi, on July 7, The Enquirer has learned. And she said yes!

“Camila was absolutely overjoyed - a baby and a marriage proposal on the same day,” revealed an insider. “It was magic.” The source said once Matthew held little Levi, he knew that marriage was the next step. Matt’s privately been diamond shopping, and he wants Camila to design her own engagement ring, the insider added. They aren’t announcing their marriage plans yet - and just like they sold the first photos of their baby, it’s possible they’ll try to cash in on the wedding.”

I’m not too sure that the cash comment at the end was absolultey necessary. All celebrities, excluding Nicole Kidman, of course, are selling their first baby pictures these days and quite often, the money is then given away to charity. And I really don’t think that Matt is the type to have his wedding ceremony performed on television anyway. I predict that this will be a very private affair and that their new son, Levi, will play in a big part of it!

Hollywood is now so deep into the baby boom industry that it’s hard to keep up with who is doing what and how with their little ones. While it’s safe to say that everybody is happy and healthy, we of course, are always looking for more than that. Here are a few of the new to have given birth and how they are doing with parenthood.

You can always know that someone knows what they’re talking about when they interject “or something” into the conversation. Real specific. But we really should all take heed at what she’s saying. She has been a parent for a whole month already.

And Matthew McConaughey, who just had his baby on Monday, has already started people talking about him. We’ve now been told that his son’s name is Levi. In the interview with US, he also gives an explanation for the name. Matt and long-time girlfriend, Camilla Alves, have also accepted a deal with OK magazine to sell the first baby pictures for 3 million dollars.

I’m not sure how much Jamie Lynn Spears got from the same magazine for the first pictures of her and little baby Maddie but they appear on the cover this week. She is loving being back home and being a new mommy. But don’t be surprised if you don’t recognize Jamie Lynn. I’d be surprised if that’s even her on the cover, it’s been so airbrushed.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have also given explanations for the name of their baby daughter, Sunday Rose, also born this past Monday. After their explanation, I’m still of the opinion that Sunday is not a good name for a child but then again, it’s not my baby. And Nicole, always showing how she’s a lady full of class has turned down many deals for the first pictures but still promise to show her to the world very soon.

And five months after J.Lo had her precious bundles, Emme and Max, she is taking some chill time by cruising around on a luxury yacht in Italy with the babies’ daddy, Marc Anthony. People are talking about her being back in a bikini such a short time after delivering two babies and a lot of people are talking about how it’s nice to not see celebrities that are perfect and stick thin. I don’t know, I’d trade my body for hers any day!

Hours after Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban welcomed their little pink bundle of joy into the world, Matthew McConaughey welcomed a son! Matt and his girlfriend of two years, Camila Alves welcomed their new addition on Monday night. From Gossip Girls,

“According to the “Fool’s Gold” actor’s rep Alan Nierob, the baby boy was born at 6:22 pm and weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces. A close friend revealed, “They’re so happy!”

The whole McConaughey family has been looking forward to Matthew becoming a father, with oldest brother Rooster recently telling press, “Oh, it’s going to be fun! He’ll make a really good dad because he’s got a lot of patience. I’m excited for him. It’s about time.”

Reportedly, Camila will be staying home to raise the little boy and making sure that he has a happy and loving home. This is one kid who might have a shot being raised in Hollywood. McConaughey seems like he will be a very fun and easy-going dad and Camila already appears so fully devoted to her little boy. No name has been released yet.

Penelope Cruz who has been known to date the likes of Matt McConaughey and Tom Cruise has gone very public with her relationship with Javier Bardem. The two met on the set of a Woody Allen movie they were filming last summer and although Cruz denied rumours at the time, there is no hiding their love now! Here they are frolicking in the Maldives and from Celebitchy,

“Penelope Cruz doesn’t want to publicly show off her relationship with Javier Bardem, but he’s showing her off to his family. One onlooker told us, He took Penelope for a spin on the dance floor in front of all his family. It’s getting pretty serious.”

They were both seen at the Academy Awards this year. Cruz was undoubtedly there to support her man, who was a part of the Best Picture winner No Country for Old Men, but they did walk the red carpet separately.

Who knows if this is just another one in of Cruz’s long line of men or if it’s going to turn out to be something quite serious. Maybe keeping it secret for awhile helped them in the long run.

Well, it seems like babies are sprouting up all over, and it’s not even spring yet. Matthew McConaughey just announced he’s going to be a proud papa. His girlfriend, Camilla Alves, is three months pregnant. They’ve been dating since July, 2007.

McConaughey said: “My girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together … its 3 months growin in her womb and all looks healthy and lively so far.”

Hm, does he have X-ray vision. How can he tell if it “looks healthy and lively”? At any rate, he sounds like a good ol’ homespun country boy, doesn’t he? Hopefully he can use that good ol’ Southern charm and “Aw, shucks” simple attitude to help get Camilla through morning sickness, and the baby’s poopy diapers and spit up. We certainly hope all goes well with them.

Matthew McConaughey celebrated his 37th birthday by getting as sweaty as humanly possible and sharing his armpit stench with partygoers. Man..I wish I could’ve been there!

It’s no wonder sexy, tip-top shape actor Matthew McConaughey would choose to enjoy his current life as a single man with hoards of women all over him, doing anything to grab his attention.

Sources say that the 36-year-old is currently taking a break from women. The “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” star - who once dated Penelope Cruz - has decided he likes being a bachelor too much to settle down for the time being.

According to Britain’s News of the World, a source said, “Matt’s too much of his own man to be with any woman long-term. He loves his traveling and his fitness routine too much to be tamed by a woman. Then there’s his work, which Matt takes very seriously. He’s happiest being a single guy right now - for the foreseeable future.”

Last week McConaughey and close friend Lance Armstrong denied rumors that they are gay.

The pair - who have been photographed together shirtless on several occasions - have laughed off rumors their friendship has turned physical.

Matthew joked, “We tried it. It wasn’t for us!”

The actor then added, “A lot of people don’t understand friendship and brotherhood. I have a great friend in him. I’d do anything he asked me to, even though he’d probably never ask me to, and he feels the same way.”

Seven-time Tour de France cycling champion Lance - who called off his engagement to singer Sheryl Crow earlier this year - admits he and Matthew had no idea their relationship would become so strong.

He explained, “Our friendship just developed. He got out of a relationship and I’d just gotten out of a relationship. I think people see pictures and they think we’re these overgrown frat guys, but we all have those kinds of relationships - and relationship isn’t a bad word.”

The “sexiest man alive” is available again. Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz “have decided to split,” Cruz spokesman Robert Garlock told The Associated Press Friday. McConaughey’s rep, Alan Nierob, confirmed the breakup, first reported by People magazine.

The couple costarred in 2005’s “Sahara.”

McConaughey, People’s reigning hunk of hunks, appeared in this year’s “Failure to Launch.”

This fall, Cruz, 32, stars in Pedro Almodovar’s “Volver,” (”Return”), which just made a splash at the Cannes Film Festival.

Cruz and McConaughey, 36, parted ways four weeks ago due to busy work schedules, People reports.
