The musician and actress decided to tie the knot in Park City, Utah, of all the places. T.R. Knight reportedly said that the private event was “incredible.” Aw, that’s adorable. From People:
“With a light snow falling outside, Katherine Heigl exchanged vows with musician Josh Kelley in scenic Park City, Utah.
The private reception was witnessed by Grey’s Anatomy costars T.R. Knight – who told PEOPLE it was “incredible and beautiful” – and Sandra Oh, as well as Private Practice star Kate Walsh and new husband Alex Young.
Taking place in a small, private tent at the Stein Eriksen Lodge, the nuptials lasted about 30 minutes in an area decked out in white flowers and white candles. A walkway from the tent to the nearby reception was lined with white candles, illuminating the fresh snow.”
The ceremony even featured a soundtrack by Josh Kelley, and light snow. Ah, romance. I think I would’ve had some different music at my wedding though; you figure, if Josh Kelley is a musician, Katherine Heigl is going to have to hear a lot of his music, for the rest of her days; can you imagine? Frightening. It’d be more than fair to request something else for that one day.
Katherine Heigl is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Recently, she was interviewed by Vanity Fair, for their January issue, where she tells the world that she has basically, no faith in marriage, by calling it a craps shoot. And here’s the great part; Katherine is engaged. Although, with that attitude, probably not for very long. From People:
“When it comes to thinking about love and marriage, Katherine Heigl finds herself caught between the small-town Mormon girl she used to be and the big-city leading lady she’s become.
The Emmy-winning Grey’s Anatomy actress, 29, who is engaged to musician Josh Kelley, tells Vanity Fair in its January issue that she has no “grand illusions about marriage” – and yet she has approached it quite traditionally.
“I think it’s a crapshoot. The odds are really bad, especially in this town,” Heigl says. “But I have a lot of faith in Josh, and I wanted to have that one day when I stand in front of my friends and my family and honor him and how important he is in my life.”
Despite her modern-day skepticism, Heigl upheld one old-fashioned ideal: She didn’t want to move in with Kelley, 27, before tying the knot. “I still have enough Mormon in me – not a lot, but enough – that I wanted to keep that a little bit sacred,” she says.
In another way, though, Heigl upended tradition while they were dating – aggressively pursuing Kelley, demanding to know his plans for the relationship, even picking out the diamond for her ring.
“I’m one of those women who always thinks it’s better to play it cool and keep them wanting more,” she says, “but I really threw myself at him. I broke all the rules.”
But only after changing the way she approached relationships.
“I decided I was sick of trying to figure out what everybody else wanted, and I should just decide what I want,” she says. “Josh is the first serious relationship I’ve ever had where I was like, This is me. From the moment I met him, I said, This is what I want and what I need.”"
This is precisely one of the reasons so many marriages fail. When people go into marriages with no actual belief that it’s going to work, then what’s the point? Not to mention, Katherine seemed aggressive enough to pick her ring, and push Josh into making a long term decision. I think this is either a classic case of Gold Digger, or it’s just not going anywhere.
