Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry, who welcomed their daughter into the world on Sunday morning have revealed the name. She is Nahla Ariela Aubry. The first name, Nahla, is the Hebrew word that means ‘drink of water.’ In Hebrew, Ariela means ‘lion of god.’ Halle Berry also hasn’t been able to stay away from the world of movies when it came to naming her daughter either. Nahla was Simba’s lady lion friend in The Lion King and of course, we all know Ariel, The Little Mermaid.

Of course, Halle’s family is just bursting and I’m sure that Gabriel’s is as well. From US,

“Aubry’s sister, Eugenie, told Us he couldn’t contain his excitement when Berry went into labor.

“He called my father to say, ‘It’s time! It’s happening!’” Eugenie said. “She was about to give birth. He sounded a bit nervous but happy!”

So will their little girl be as gorgeous as mom and dad?

“I don’t know,” Eugenie says. “I have to meet her first to see if that’s true!”

Well, of course she will be! Both parents are just gorgeous so she stands a good chance of carrying that on. I’m quite tired of celebs branding their little ones with horribly obscure names that just sound ridiculous. I guess when people started calling their baby Apple, all hope really was lost.

Halle Berry gave birth to her little girl Sunday morning at 10:17 am. She was born at the Los Angeles Hospital, Cedars-Sinai. The healthy darling weighed in at 7lbs, 4 oz. Star Magazine reports,

“The actress had checked into the hospital for the second time that day after feeling contractions earlier Saturday morning.”The insider adds that Berry had come to the hospital at 4 in the morning because she thought she was going into labor. She had a bit of a problem at first when her blood pressure came up. She had stopped dilating after her blood pressure returned to normal so she was sent home.”

Gabriel Aubry is the baby daddy and although the two are madly in love with each other, Halle says that she won’t marry again. Berry has been married twice and reportedly, isn’t looking to make the same mistake. Aubry and Berry met while they were both on the set of a Versace photo shoot.

I’m not sure when Halle Berry is going to deliver her baby. Berry claimed to be three months along in September. However, recent photos look like she’s about ready to pop at any moment! Her and her beau, supermodel Gabriel Aubry, have no plans to marry, but are very committed to one another.

“I feel more married, in a way, than I ever have in two marriages before,” she said. “He really understands the spiritual connection is so much more important than the paper and the pomp and circumstance and the ceremony.”

But Berry said there is something she and Aubry are sure to do: try to have another child.

“There’s just one right now,” she said. “But we’re hoping, right after this one, to do it again.”

Yes, it’s that time for Gabriel Aubry, as it is for almost every man in the world; eventually most have to deal with a pregnant woman. Hey, it’s not always Halle Berry, but they all get pampered, and Halle even moreso. Her boyfriend is falling into the ways of true manhood; surviving a pregnancy. From People:

“In between pampering his pregnant his girlfriend Halle Berry, Gabriel Aubry has been brushing up on parenting books as the couple get set for the arrival of their baby.

“I’ve been in preparation mode for five months,” Aubry, 31, tells Extra. “I’ve read a lot of books.”

Any recommendations? “There’s a good one that Dr. Phil did [titled] Family First,” he says. “Great book. I recommend it.”

Aubry has been on top of his expectant-father responsibilities for a while now, telling PEOPLE in September that he’s been massaging Berry’s feet and satisfying her food cravings.

He also told PEOPLE this week that he’s been talking to the baby. “[I] talk in the mic in her bellybutton … that’s what we call it,” he said Thursday.

And he offers some more words of wisdom from the trenches for dads-to-be, telling Extra: “Don’t say she’s fat.”

Berry, 41, is due in early 2008.

Aubry was in New York on Thursday night for Wilhemina’s 40th anniversary party. He works for the agency as a model.”

I think not calling a pregnant woman fat, is common sense. Hell, calling any woman fat, especially one you have to sleep around, is probably the worst thing for your health you could do. Calling a pregnant woman, swimming in hormones fat is up there with taking a plane ride with Lynrd Skynrd, or hanging out with O.J. Simpson.

The four months pregnant Halle Berry is already starting to lose her prenatal grip on reality, as she begins planning all sorts of pro-organic everything in her kid’s room. I sometimes wionder whether or not these people realise that plastic, and rubber, and latex et cetera, are a baby’s best friend? They’re easy to clean, mainly, and much more sterile. Not to mention, hypoallergenic. Whereas a bunch of organic wood, and diapers made from plants and recycled paper, could have god only knows what effect on a child’s very sensitive skin. From People:

As green-friendly stars drive Priuses to movie premieres, four-months-pregnant Halle Berry is doing her part as an environmentally conscious mom-to-be.

“They even have organic disposable diapers now that you can use,” Berry, showing her growing baby bump, told PEOPLE at Monday’s Hollywood premiere for Things We Lost in the Fire.

“I’m working on the nursery, but it’s all going to be organic and eco-friendly,” the actress, 41, explained. “There are so many things out now that you can use. I’m going to really try hard to make it all organic!”

I don’t see why these actors feel like they have to turn their children into promotional devices. Children deserve a chance to grow up with toys they can gnaw on, in sterile environments, where weirdo tree-huggers don’t try to raise them like they were cave people.

Halle Berry finally gets pregnant at 41! Well, holy crap it’s about time. The movie she was going to star in, called “Tulia” has been set aside for a little while, so she can have her kid and all, apparently. Halle is currently dating the soon to be daddy, –well… hopefully, you never know, — Gabriel Aubrey. Hopefully, if it’s a boy, they won’t give him two girls’ names, like his dad. Poor guy. From TMZ:

“A source close to the production tells us Berry, 41, who is currently dating hottie model Gabriel Aubrey, was set to star in the movie about the drug and racial profiling scandal in Tulia, Texas. The film, which was scheduled for a 2008 release, was to be directed by John Singleton and also starred Billy Bob Thornton.”

Supposedly the project might get picked up again later on, so this may only be a pause in the plans for production. I doubt Billy Bob would go on without Halle. The two were actually co-stars in Monster’s Ball, which, by the way, was fabulous.

Halle Berry tells Parade magazine that she tried to commit suicide over her failed first marriage by trying to “gas” herself. She says:

“I was sitting in my car, and I knew the gas was coming when I had an image of my mother finding me. She sacrificed so much for her children, and to end my life would be an incredibly selfish thing to do. It was all about a relationship. My sense of worth was so low. I promised myself I would never be a coward again.”

It’s always sad when beautiful people try to take their own lives…
