September 28th, 2007 — Divorce, Dylan McDermott, Shiva Rose
Dylan McDermott and his wife of twelve years, actress Shiva Rose, have “seperated.” The couple married in 1995, and have two children together, ages 11 and 2. McDermott played ethically-challenged lawyer Bobby Donnell on ABC’s The Practice, and will be back on primetime this fall in another ABC drama. Rose most recently starred in a romantic comedy called David and Layla that I don’t think anyone has heard of, much less seen.
So it’s another Hollywood couple gone sour. I suppose it’s to be expected; after all, half (or is it more than that now?) of all marriages end in divorce. There is no reason why Hollywood marriages should be any different. There are always such high hopes in the beginning, though. McDermott told Diane Sawyer in an interview just four years ago that:
“I was in love with her right away. For her, it was a little longer, you know, a couple of years. But for me, it was right away. I guess it was grace.”
Makes you wonder if it’s not her initiating the divorce. I mean, if it takes you a few years to fall in love with someone, there’s something not quite right. You really can’t make someone love you, even if you’re a third-tier Hollywood star.
September 27th, 2007 — Carey Hart, Divorce, Pink
Could it be possible that Pink’s marriage is over after a mere 21 months? Pink and moto-cross star Carey Hart haven’t even made it to the two-year mark, but sources close to the couple say that it is over, kaput, DUNZO.
From Us Weekly:
“Pink was out with a table full of friends and telling them that her and Carey just wasn’t working anymore.
She told them, ‘We’re just not getting along anymore. We each need our space. We need our distance. It’s not like it was when we first started.’ “
A friend of Carey’s confirmed the problems, saying:
“Carey is tired of her always accusing him of cheating, and he’s fed up with the constant arguing. He says
he cannot deal with her anymore. It’s his decision to put an end to this.
They are 100 per cent getting a divorce.”
However, a rep for Pink called the rumors “100 percent bullsh*t” and Carey himself, when asked last month about his relationship with Pink, said “everything’s fine.”
So which is it? Are they really on the rocks, or are Pink and Carey just another victim of the pressures of being a celebrity couple? Honestly, does anyone even care? Celebrities split up all the time; these two haven’t been together long enough to be considered one of those couples everyone thought would make it, and they’ve managed to stay together long enough to avoid being put on any Shortest Hollywood Marriages lists.
August 18th, 2007 — Dina Lohan, Divorce, Mike Lohan
The long, drawn out, –completely unnecessarily publicised, divorce between Lindsay Lohan’s parents, Dina and Michael, is has officially been finalised. I thought it might never end; between Dina’s absolutely flaky behaviour, having raised an utterly idiotic daughter, and the fact that Michael looks like someone you’d tell your kids not to talk to, they seem like a match made in Heaven.
“…the judge actually complimented the couple…”
Hours ago, a Long Island just made his final judgment on the divorce proceedings between the Lohans, and granted Dina the terms she had wanted. A source said that the judge actually complimented the couple by saying they had done the right thing for their kids, and for working hard to get the details settled. ….What the hell could this man possibly be talking about? The Lohan kids are practically role models. And parents like those are of course, naturally adept at the job that is parenting. Oh yeah, they’re all real icons of the community.
There has been no mention of what the custody agreement is supposed to look like, and the couple are returning to court next month to settle that end of it, for now.
July 22nd, 2007 — Ashlee Simpson, Brandy, Britney Spears, Charlotte Church, Dean McDermott, Divorce, Donald Trump, Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake, Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes, Mary Jo Eustace, Nick Carter, Nick Lachey, Paris Hilton, Rosie O'Donnell, Sophia Bush, Tori Spelling

10. Do you remember Brandy? You know … -sings a little- “The boy is mine…”? R&B hotty from the 90’s? Well, once upon a time, an ex-beau called her a–… well, a not so very nice name. Supposedly she found the perfect way to pay him back. Scratching his car. A little weak, don’t you think?
9. The teenage singer, Charlotte Church was furious with her ex-boyfriend, Steven Johnson, in 2004 for hitting her hurt song, Casualty Of Love, back with his own track, It’s All Over, accusing her of cheating. Sound familiar? It’s at number nine, because it’s been done. By better artists.
8. Credit Suisse may not have wanted to bail out Trump Hotel Casino Resorts, Donald Trump’s broke casino company, but an internet gambling site called Casino Fortune is ready to give up the $400 million that his company needs. Who is promoting and advising on the deal? Mr. Wallis, owner of Casino Fortune has hired Stacie J., a reject from Mr. Trump’s show, The Apprentice.
7. In May of this year, Rosie flipped out on “The View” with co-host, Elisabeth Hasselbeck. An old friend of Rosie O’Donnell, Janette Barber, who used to work on The Rosie O’Donnell Show, figured Rosie was in need of some retribution. So she went into the studios of The View, and drew mustaches on all the photos of Hasselbeck on the wall.
6. Who does Paris Hilton blame for her jail sentence? Could it be… Martians? Liberace? Michael Jackson? Or … her lawyer? Yea… Guess who’s probably getting fired. Poor guy. But her representative says no way. We’ll see.
5. During Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show, Nick Carter gave an earful about his dating Ashlee Simpson, a vengeful stab in Paris Hilton’s direction, after she supposedly cheated on him with Chad Michael Murray, who, according to Carter, was cheating Sophia Bush. Drama…
4. Dean McDermott… Tori Spelling’s new husband, has a particularly creative ex-wife. Mary Jo Eustace, after being cheated on with Tori Spelling, the “has been” and “never was”, decided to write a story; “My Husband Left Me For Tori Spelling,” after he came back from doing the Lifetime movie, told his wife, “We’re soul mates. [Tori] She loves me unconditionally . . . I don’t love you any more. And I don’t respect you. I haven’t for a very long time.” Good god. Could that guy be much more of a pig? Read about the slimy sleaze bag in The Other Woman.
3. Number three, is Nick Lachey, ever so sexy even in his sad song about his divorce with Jessica Simpson. The video, “What’s Left Of Me”, in which a Jessica look alike and he watch all of the possession they’ve acquired during their marriage disappear, with the Jessica impersonator disappearing last, is meant to describe the falling apart of their lives.
2. Britney Spears, way back before she starting getting knocked up, used to be Justin Timberlake’s significant other, for more than four years. Angry at your ex? Write a song about it, and make a video that makes her look like a cheater. Justin did. And it was a hit! Need to retaliate? Write a crappier, less popular song like Britney did:
“Once upon a time there was a little boy who tried so hard to be down.
Playing me publicly, twisting the story, see, made it the talk of the town.”
Then she sings: “Cry me..Cry me…done. Here’s a bridge to walk over it too.”
Ouch!
1. Soo… we’re finally at number one! Who’s the craziest she-b**** of all time? … Well… do you remember TLC? Of course you do. Well, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes used to date the receiver of the Atlanta Falcons, Andre Rison. And day-um! did those two fight. After one argument, Left Eye tossed all of Andre’s teddy bears into the bathtub, doused them with lighter fluid, and set them on fire! Then, in the early, early hours of June 9th, 1994, (a year after an argument had led to gunplay), the couple had another fight, which ended in throwing punches, and Rison ran from the house. After that, Left Eye Lopes started another fire in the bathtub. But oops! She reflected later, “This wasn’t the same bathtub.”

No duh? The tub melted, and Andre’s house went up in flames. …Eesh. What pissed her off so much? Left Eye had found a box full of sneakers. Andre had apparently bought twenty pairs, she explained later, “and there were no size fours!”
Lisa Lopes, Left Eye, from TLC wins the Best Celebrity Revenge reward! RIP, Wild Child.
Do you have someone you want to get even with?
Make him pay.

November 7th, 2006 — Britney Spears, Divorce, Uncategorized
In Touch has all the scoop:
At New York’s Regency Hotel, guest Britney Spears “was in The Library restaurant, sitting at a table that had been set aside for her,” says an onlooker. But as the chair opposite her remained empty, “she started crying.” Insiders tell In Touch she was waiting for her husband, Kevin Federline, to arrive that November 2 night — but he never did.Earlier that day, Kevin was overheard arguing on his cell phone. According to a family insider, the couple had a blowout over Kevin’s upcoming gig at NYC nightclub Webster Hall. “Britney got mad because Kevin wouldn’t allow the kids to go along with him for rehearsals,” explains the insider, adding that Britney, 24, likes to have their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, with her as much as possible. But the couple seemed to have put the fight behind them — until Kevin was a no-show at the hotel’s eatery. A deeply upset Britney took drastic action. “She stayed by herself with the kids that night, and Kevin moved to a different hotel,” says the insider.
But Kevin picked the wrong weekend to fight with his famous wife. The night after he stood her up, Kevin was set to launch his concert tour with a performance at NYC’s Stereo nightclub, and Britney was scheduled to introduce him. But the pop princess, who has been her husband’s biggest supporter, gave as good as she got — she didn’t show up at the hotspot.
Throughout the early part of the evening, “Kevin constantly scanned the room, and was checking his Sidekick,” says an observer. “It seemed like he was looking for Britney.” While eating a takeout meal alone at a VIP table, Kevin, 28, told In Touch that he’d been “partying all the time,” during his trip to New York. He added, “I’m really tired, and it puts stress on me and I get irritable.” He denied that he was having family problems, but when another guest asked how Britney and the kids were, he responded, “I don’t know.
At 2 a.m., when it was clear Britney would not turn up, “Kevin performed ‘Playing with Fire’ and ‘A League of My Own,’ ” says a guest. “Afterwards, there was no cheering.” Later, the DJ played Britney’s hit “Slave 4 U” but “Kevin sat stone-faced until he motioned for the DJ to cut the song off early,” says another onlooker. The rapper left the club alone at 4 a.m.
Although Kevin was spotted back at the Regency Hotel on November 4, having seemingly reconciled with Britney, he found himself going solo for the second night in a row. His Webster Hall show drew only 70 fans — and Britney was not among them.
Afterward, a noticeably glum Kevin dined at Corio, where even a burlesque dancer couldn’t seem to cheer him up. At 2:40 a.m., Kevin was still going strong without his spouse. He stopped by Sean “Diddy” Combs’ birthday party at hotspot Marquee. By November 6, Britney and Kevin were even further apart. He flew to Canada to attend a taping of Much Music, while Britney stayed behind to appear on Letterman.

October 23rd, 2006 — Craig Schelske, Divorce, Sarah Evans, Uncategorized
A hearing has been set for Thursday for a ruling on several motions in the divorce case of country star Sara Evans and Craig Schelske. A clerk in the Chancery Court for Williamson County confirmed that hearing had been set for Thursday at 10 a.m.
“We are anxious to try to get in particular the restraining order dissolved so that he can get back into the home and see his children,” said Charlie Gay Jr., Schelske’s attorney.
Evans’ attorneys confirmed today that she has filed additional motions in the high-profile divorce case. Documents supplied by the attorneys revealed Evans filed motions asking for: psychological
examinations for both Evans and Schelske; the appointment of a “guardian ad litem” to serve the best interest of the couple’s three children; an order to refer certain matters raised by the husband to a mediator; and a motion to restrict parties and their counsel from “making extrajudicial statements or comments to the media … pending further order of the court,” commonly called a gag order.
The court office, however, could not be reached to confirm the late-afternoon filing of Evans’ latest motions. Evans’ attorney John Hollins Jr. confirmed that the filing happened. He and John Hollins Sr. had no comment. Gay, who hadn’t seen the documents, had no comment on Evans’ latest motions.
October 5th, 2006 — Billy Morrisette, Divorce, Maura Tierney, Uncategorized
ER actress Maura Tierney has filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years.
The actress, who also starred on the sitcom NewsRadio, cites irreconcilable differences with her husband, actor Billy Morrissette, in court papers filed in Los Angeles.
Tierney, 41, and Morrissette, 43, have been separated since March 7, according to the papers. They have no children.
Tierney, who plays Abby Lockhart on ER, said in 2004 that the medical skills she learned on the show have come in handy: She once diagnosed Morrissette’s appendicitis. “He had localized pain in his lower right abdomen and a fever,” she said. “He was also diaphoretic (perspiring). I said, ‘I really think you need to go to the doctor.’ The surgeon said it might have burst if we had waited. And the nurse let me help draw his blood.”
Tierney has also appeared films including Primary Colors, Liar Liar and Welcome to Mooseport.
Morrissette has appeared in the movie Scotland, Pa., which he also directed, and on Mad About You, Party of Five and Diagnosis Murder.
September 14th, 2006 — Christie Brinkley, Divorce, Peter Cook, Uncategorized
Christie Brinkley has filed for divorce from Peter Cook, two months after reports surfaced about his alleged affair with an 18-year-old employee, Cook’s lawyer confirmed Thursday.
“We are told that a divorce action has been commenced in Suffolk County, and we have agreed to accept service of those papers,” lawyer David Aronson told The Associated Press.
The divorce papers were filed in Suffolk County Court in Riverhead.
“I can neither confirm nor deny it,” Brinkley’s publicist, Elliot Mintz, reached in Los Angeles on Thursday morning, told the AP.
The 52-year-old supermodel announced in July that she and Cook, 47, her fourth husband, had separated. They were married in 1996, and have an 8-year-old daughter, Sailor. Cook adopted Brinkley’s son, Jack, now 11, from her marriage to developer Richard Taubman.
Aronson said Cook “regrets that this happened. He was hopeful that he and Ms. Brinkley would be able to work their way through this problem and put their marriage back together, but obviously she has decided otherwise.”
“He has instructed us that we are to handle this matter in as amicable and private a fashion as possible under the circumstances, and he hopes that everyone out there can respect the privacy of Christie and the children,” Aronson added.
The New York Post, citing anonymous sources, had first reported in Thursday editions that Brinkley had filed for divorce.
The couple’s separation exploded in scandal when Diana Bianchi, now 19, claimed Cook had seduced her shortly after hiring her to work at his architectural firm.
Aronson said his client learned of the divorce filing Wednesday. He said it was too early to say how the couple would divide their common property or to discuss the custody arrangement of their children.
“We’re not even near that yet,” Aronson said.
The couple’s relationship has become fodder for tabloids, especially in the Post, where Cook published a public apology to Brinkley in a Cindy Adams gossip column shortly after news of his alleged affair broke.
“This is an aberration,” Cook said through a lawyer, according to the column. “I’m sorry. I’m contrite. I’m stupid. Foolish. No excuse.”
“I love my wife. … For a lifetime I’ve tried to prove how much I love her,” Cook said, according to the column.
Cook had said in the Cindy Adams column that he would respect Brinkley’s wishes, whatever the result. “He hopes there’s no divorce,” that lawyer told the Post. “If she wants one, and he certainly hopes this doesn’t happen, but if — it will not be nasty.”
Brinkley was also previously married to Frenchman Jean-Francois Allaux and singer Billy Joel.
September 13th, 2006 — Bobby Brown, Divorce, Uncategorized, Whitney Houston
Whitney Houston has split from her husband, Bobby Brown, Houston’s rep, Nancy Seltzer, has confirmed to PEOPLE. “She has filed for divorce from Bobby Brown,” says Seltzer. Houston filed the paperwork Friday, Sept. 8 in Orange County, Calif. The filing is technically a legal separation, Seltzer clarified, adding: “We’re saying she filed for divorce because that is (Whitney’s) intent.” Divorce proceeding are expected to begin next month. “(Whitney) was in L.A. last night with Clive Davis at the Ella awards,” Seltzer said Wednesday. “I have nothing further to add.” In the filing, Houston asked for custody of the couple’s 13-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and asked that Brown be allowed visitation rights, the Associated Press reports. She also requested that property rights be determined later. A Houston friend tells PEOPLE of the singer, “She is doing fabulously well.” Houston, 43, and Brown, 39, wed on July 18, 1992. But doubts about the couple began even before their wedding day. She was the velvet-voiced sweetheart raised on Baptist gospel music in a middle-class home. He was a bad boy from the Roxbury section of Boston who had fathered three kids out of wedlock. Still, Houston walked down the aisle in a $40,000 Marc Bouwer wedding gown and, before a star-studded crowd of 800 guests, exchanged vows with Brown on the grounds of her five-acre, $11 million New Jersey mansion. Clive Davis and Whitney Houston, Sept. 12 Photo by: Luis Martinez / Splash News Their marriage had its share of ups and downs, including a month-long separation in 1997, run-ins with the law, rumors of drug use and infidelity and a 2005 Bravo reality show, Being Bobby Brown, that showcased a relationship many viewers perceived as bizarre. But through it all, Houston and Brown always seemed to stick together. In January, a report surfaced that Brown planned to divorce Houston and had been partying with several women at a casino. Telling PEOPLE the rumors were untrue, Brown said of his wife, “She’s my friend. She’s the better half of me. They say opposites attract, but we’re not opposites. We’re one person. We’re loving life, and we’re just trying to be as good to each other as possible.” And in May, when a tabloid reported that Houston was abusing drugs and that the union was in trouble, Brown told PEOPLE, “We are happily married. … We are going to stand for each other for as long we live. I adore that woman. She helps me see God. I look in her eyes and I see God.”
