October 13th, 2008 — Clay Aiken, Lindsay Lohan, Pink
And really, does this surprise anyone? While it does seem like it’s becoming the new trend in Hollywood to announce that you are gay, first with the not-so-surpring announcements made by the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Clay Aiken, this announcement by Pink is another that does not surprise me. And not that I think any less of her for it, it really bothers me the way she went about making her ‘announcement.’ Note that she does not specifically say that she is bisexual and does actually seem to be erring on the side of ‘I’m-still-straight-really’, if you’ve had relations of any kind with a woman, you’re bisexual. Once it’s done, it’s done and there’s no going back. Sort of like losing your virginity. This is what Celebitchy reported Pink as saying as she skirts around actually being honest with herself,
“The ‘So What’ singer - who split from her husband Carey Hart earlier this year - has had flings with women in the past, but would never completely give up men.
She said: “I’m not gay so I guess I would not try a relationship with a woman. I didn’t say I haven’t experimented but I love men too much to make it a permanent thing.”
See this just bothers me. It’s like she wants to be part of ‘the group’ by making this announcement, which was completely unnecessary anyway and then she hints around the issue but doesn’t really come forward. It just seems quite juvenile to me and I really expected more from a great artist like Pink, who has up until this point been nothing but honest.
September 27th, 2008 — Clay Aiken
Clay Aiken has certainly been in the news a lot lately, first with the birth of his newborn son, Parker, and then his big revelation that he was in fact gay. He has now made one more announcement, and that was on the health of his new baby boy. The poor little guy had digestion issues and needed surgery when he was only one month old! Aw, you have to be some kind of mean to not have your heart go out to the family - that is indeed scary stuff! From Celebrity Baby Scoop, ”
For most parents, the fact that the little baby they brought home is their child doesn’t truly hit home right away - and for Clay Aiken, his moment of realization came amidst a frightening health scare with son Parker.
“He had been gassy for weeks and then he started throwing up,” Aiken, 29, tells PEOPLE in its latest issue. “Jaymes [Foster, the baby’s mother] and I were trying to be calm, rational parents, so we didn’t call the doctors too much, but it just got to a point where he was vomiting everything. He was starting to get dehydrated.”
Parker was admitted to the hospital, and diagnosed with pyloric stenosis, a intestinal condition that complicates baby’s digestion, and scheduled for surgery to correct the problem.
“Parker had been in one day already when I got really panicky,” Clay recalls. He woke up at 2 a.m. and headed to the hospital. “I was a little worried, like ‘I don’t think they’re going to let me in the hospital at 2 or3 in the morning.’ Then I thought, ‘Wait a second, I’m the father! Of course they’ll let me in,” Aiken says. “It was the first moment when I thought, ‘I’m actually this child’s father!’ ”
Yes, every parent has that moment of realization - mine was when the nurse told me to change the baby and she’d be right back. That was when I realized that this kid was mine and no one was going to do the dirty stuff for me. It’s sad though that that wonderful moment was saddened by this situation for Clay. I wish this family all the best and hope Parker has a speedy and happy recovery!

Another confirmation on something that doesn’t need to be confirmed - Clay Aiken is gay! It seems that the 29 year old, who recently became a dad with his best friend who was artificially inseminated, has had the awakening that many parents get as soon as that little one looks at you for the first time. It’s that thing that shows you what’s important and lets you free yourself from all the other crap that you have always thought of as priorities. From Celebitchy,
“Clay Aiken has finally come out of the closet and confirmed that he is gay – to People magazine no less. Clay, 29, became a dad for the first time recently. His best friend Jaymes Foster was artificially inseminated and gave birth in August. The pair said they planned to raise their son together, though it was clear even before Clay came out that they were just good friends.
Perez Hilton has a copy of the October 4th edition of People. It has Clay on the cover, holding his son, and the headline “YES, I’M GAY. The Idol star opens up about his emotional decision to come out: ‘I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things.’”
I really am very happy for Clay and think that he’s right in his thinking that parents need to be honest with their children and to do that, you need to be honest and keep true to yourself. I have thought in the past that Clay Aiken seemed a little immature and maybe this is the first sign that having this baby was a good thing for him and maybe it will force him to grow up a little.
May 30th, 2008 — Clay Aiken

The bizarre announcement has been made that Clay Aiken is going to be a father. That’s correct. It seems to me that when it comes to Clay Aiken, everything becomes just a little bit backward. Maybe placing second in American Idol did something to him but the dude just seems off to me. From TMZ,
“Multiple sources tell us the mother is Jaymes Foster, a record producer and Clay’s best friend. He lives at her home when he’s in L.A.
We’re told 50-year-old Foster, who produced several Aiken CDs, is due in August. She’s the sister of record mogul David Foster. She divorced a few years back and has no kids. Aiken is 29.
We’re told Foster was artificially inseminated. But Clay is a lot more than sperm — we’re told he will have an active role in raising the child.”
All of this just seems very weird to me. I mean, she’s twenty years older than him and it doesn’t sound like there’s a blossoming romance behind this, it’s simply an older woman wanting to become pregnant and asking her “best friend” to help her out with it. Maybe it’s the fact that she’s so much older and maybe it’s the fact that in the story, it seems that Clay is almost an afterthought, although they may say otherwise. Yep, just like all other news surrounding this father-to-be, it’s just plain weird.
