If you don’t know who Shannon Price is by now, you may want to skip this entire post and just continue your life without ever hearing her name. Shannon is the psycho stupid ex-wife of the late Gary Coleman, who died last week in a Utah hospital after a brain hemorrhage. The day after Gary’s death, Shannon gave an interview to TMZ. Firstly, shame on you TMZ for going after someone who has just lost someone close to her. And secondly, this is why you don’t give interviews the day after someone has died. Because you’re still overcome with grief, you don’t know what you’re talking about, and you don’t articulate yourself clearly.
Don’t get me wrong. I think Shannon Price is an idiot, through and through. And, given by her statements about pulling the plug on Gary after he’d only been in the hospital for a day and the fact that she did it at all, she’s clearly not a very compassionate human being. But still. I think someone just needs to go on record as saying it’s not necessary to have someone give a public interview that soon after someone has passed away. DB Techno has summed up the interview pretty well,
“The ex wife of the late Gary Coleman is defending her decision to pull the plug on his life support by saying that he would not have made it.
Shannon Price is coming under fire for opting to turn off Coleman’s life support machine but she says that: “I don’t want people to be so hard on me thinking I had to pull the plug too early. He wouldn’t have made it anyway. His heart would’ve just given out. I don’t want people to sit there and think I’m a b****, and I didn’t care about him.”
Coleman was rushed to hospital last week after falling in his LA home, and was diagnosed with a massive brain hemorrhage.
Price also defended herself against those who think that she actually caused his death: “A lot of people sit there and say, yeah, she pushed him. People are so cruel, they don’t even know. I was upstairs, he was downstairs. How am I going to push him? Why would I want to hurt my husband?
According to Price, doctors told her that even if he underwent surgery he would not have made it thus she opted to end his life.
“He would’ve bled to death during the surgery. Even if they did take a chunk out of his brain, he would not be the same. He’d basically be like Muhammad Ali. He would’ve died sooner or later anyway.”
Did she seriously say that he was going to die sooner or later anyway? How cold-hearted is that? Aren’t we all going to die sooner or later? And let’s not forget the fact that Muhammad Ali is not a vegetable and I’d be highly offended if someone ever said with disdain that someone would end up “basically like me.” And why does she call Gary her husband? Does she think we’ve all forgotten how they had a super public divorce on actual Divorce Court way back in April 2008? Yeah, this girl is cracked and it seems that when that marriage was still happy, it was never entirely healthy. I think this sheds a new light on Shannon too, when so many people thought Gary was the only one in the couple that had issues.
