J. Lo Doesn’t Believe in In Vitro

Wow, this is a huge statement coming from a huge star. Normally stars like Jennifer Lopez try to give neutral statements about things such as in vitro fertilization so that they don’t get into famous Hollywood feuds and scrap up a political debate. But Lopez has decided to open her big ugly trap and say that she is against in vitro fertilization. She doesn’t just say that it’s “not right for her”, which is also what stars (smart ones, anyway) usually say when they don’t believe in something but don’t want to get in a whole big kaffuffle. She actually says that things such as pregnancy are acts of God and that people “shouldn’t mess with that.” Seriously? Since when do we think it’s okay to take away people’s right to conceive in whichever manner they wish? From US,

“Although many stars have turned to in vitro fertilization to conceive, Jennifer Lopez never considered it an option — and says she never will.

“When it comes to family and relationships, I’m quite traditional,” the star, 40, tells the February issue of Elle magazine. “Just because of the way I was raised. And I also believe in God and I have a lot of faith in that, so I just felt like you don’t mess with things like that.”

Lopez — who is mother to 22-month-old twins Max and Emme with hubby Marc Anthony — portrays a woman who decides to have a baby through artificial insemination in the upcoming romantic comedy, The Back-Up Plan. Still, she doesn’t believe the process is for her.

“I guess deep down, I really felt like either this is not going to happen for me or it is,” she tells Elle. “You know what I mean? And if it is, it will. And if it’s not, it’s not going to.”

Being a mother, however, isn’t stopping her from working to remain a pop icon.

“This is what I do — what, because I have kids and a husband now I’m not supposed to be me?” she says. “I’m a more heightened me if anything. Hyper J.Lo. Everything I wanted before, I want twice as much now… Being an artist doesn’t start because you’re 21, and it doesn’t end because you’re 51. You are who you are until the day you die.”

Unfortunately, in the case of J. Lo, that’s true. She will be who she is forever. And that’s just someone that I don’t like very much. I’ve never been able to get on the J. Lo bandwagon. Other than being a great actress, I really don’t see what other talents she has, and that includes singing and dancing. I’m happy for her that she has a perfect little life, with a perfect little husband, and two perfect little adorable twins. But guess what? It doesn’t work that way for everyone. And she should realize that and be more interested in supporting other people’s happiness, instead of trouncing all over it.

Yes, a pregnancy is an act of God regardless of whether it takes place in a laboratory or in the bedroom. Jennifer Lopez isn’t intelligent enough to grasp that concept. If God didn’t want IVF children to be here, they wouldn’t be here.
