I really wouldn’t be able to talk about all the new news surrounding Tiger Woods. What with the eighteen mistresses and all the rumors and speculation, it’s just too much. But here are some of the tidbits that I have found most interesting in the last couple of days.
TMZ, which is all Tiger all the time ever since the story broke, has now reported that Woods has lost his first sponsorship. This sort of thing was just what everyone was whispering about when the news first broke that Tiger was a major douche bag that cheated on his wife. But I have to say, I really didn’t think that he would be in danger of losing any of his endorsement deals. I mean really, it’s not like he’s the first athlete or celebrity to act completely inappropriately. But I digress. For those of you though that were looking very forward to getting a taste of “Focus”, the new Tiger Woods Gatorade drink, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer. Or forever. From TMZ,
“Gatorade is shutting down production of their special brand of Tiger Woods’ brew this month — but the drink giant tells TMZ it has “absolutely no connection” to Tiger’s current predicament.
Gatorade says Tiger Woods Focus Gatorade will conveniently be discontinued as of December 26, saying “We made the decision several months ago … our relationship with Tiger continues.”
Chalk it up to coincidence … or not.”
I have to agree with TMZ. I’m pretty sure that this has not been in the works for months and that Gatorade is reacting to Tiger’s indiscretions. I mean really, they have a bottle designed already, with his face on it. And two weeks before its release it’s a no go? It just doesn’t add up.
The next story sounds a bit more believable to me. Apparently, Tiger Woods was addicted to painkillers. Due to four different knee surgeries, one of which was knee reconstruction as recent as 2008, the golfer allegedly has now become addicted to serious pain pills such as Vicodin and Ambien. And it’s believed that he was high and drunk when he crashed his car into a tree while his wife followed behind swinging a golf club. This story originally came from TMZ as well but it’s Pop Crunch that has even more details. From Pop Crunch,
“While TMZ.com claims Tiger may have been high after a possible overdose of Vicodin and Ambien when he slammed his Cadillac Escalade into a tree and hydrant, last month, Gerald Posner — Chief Investigative Reporter for The Daily Beast.com –tells Access Hollywood that reports of Tiger’s addiction to pills and sleeping agents have floating around for ages and the Florida Highway Patrol should have done a better job of investigating the sportsman’s suspicious accident.
“The Florida Highway Patrol didn’t do their job. They didn’t give him a breathalyzer, a urine test or blood test so no test that night on Tiger Woods to see if in fact he was on any type of medication that he shouldn’t have been on,” Posner said in an interview with the newsmagazine on Monday.
Tiger has a history of knee problems going back to his childhood. He has had four surgeries, including knee reconstruction after the 2008 U.S. Open. Posner suggest Tiger may have become dependent on prescriptions around that time:
“One doctor felt concerned enough to raise the question with him of whether he was using painkiller medications and also sleeping agents at too fast of a rate and whether he might become addicted,” Posner claims. “He plays through U.S. open… He grimaces at times on different holes, 91 holes. He wins, it becomes a legendary victory,” he added. “But there’s little doubt that he could not have gone through that Open without some type of prescription pain help.”
The Florida Highway Patrol is now stepped forward with claims that Elin Nordegren, Tiger’s wife, may have witnessed the athlete drinking and downing pills before the collision. Elin told cops Tiger took Ambien and Vicoden prior to the accident. Witnesses have said Tiger was lying on the pavement with a pillow under his head after the crash, he was drifting in and out of consciousness and snoring when the paramedics arrived.”
I didn’t actually realize that Tiger was in such bad shape after his car accident. I thought that he got into a fender-bender, his wife helped him out, and that was that. Well, except for those marks on his face which turned out to be from his wife, and not the crash. But this guy just gets better and better, doesn’t he? A homewrecker and a drug addict! That’s just perfect. I do remember though when he played that U.S. Open last year in excruciating pain. Mostly because my boyfriend kept talking about he couldn’t believe how dedicated Tiger was, to play through that kind of pain. I guess he did a good job of fooling all of us.
And lastly is a story that I’m going back and forth on believing. This one comes from Radar, which is a pretty reliable source for celebrity scandal of just about any kind. This newest story says that Tiger’s wife has moved out of the house and that she’s now living in a house down the street. All of this though comes from anonymous neighbors and unnamed sources so you be the judge. From Radar.com,
“Tiger Woods’ wife Elin has moved out of their house, RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively.
The explosive development follows numerous women coming forward with claims of affairs with the golfing great.
Elin Nordegren had enough and moved out of the $2.6 million Windermere home, neighbors and other sources close to Tiger, told RadarOnline.com exclusively. Sources tell RadarOnline.com that Elin is living nearby in another house.
Tiger’s affair with Rachel Uchitel was revealed by the National Enquirer and then several other women came forward to tell their stories of sexual relationships with the golfer. He crashed his Cadillac SUV into a fire hydrant and tree in a bizarre one-car crash early Nov. 27 after arguing with his wife about his extra-marital activities.
Tiger and his reps are keeping Elin’s move top secret and hope she will come back to the house as soon as possible. They don’t want any publicity about what is going on in the marriage since Tiger’s cheating was revealed.”
If it is true, I say good for her! There’s only so much working out that can be done in a marriage and only so much work that either parties are willing to do (Although Elin really doesn’t need to do anything on this one.) But even if it were me and I had decided to take the douche back, that decision would change once he told me that he wanted me to sign a disclosure agreement saying that I would never tell my side of the story. Try to shut me up and you’ll get burned, boy! And if it’s not true, sadly, I think it may just be a matter of time. That opinion of mine has also changed since the whole thing started. But I just think it’s too many women and too much hurt. And apparently, if that whole druggie thing is true, Tiger’s too much of a mess anyway. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to deal with it.
