This past Saturday, Ivanka Trump exchanged wedding vows with Jared Kushner and like any Trump affair it was big, bold, and fabulous! The camps of both Trump and Kushner are maintaining that they’re trying to keep things private. But, that’s difficult to do when you’ve invited 500 people to witness the joyous occasion. And of course, many of those 500 people including big-name celebrities including Regis Philbin, Barbara Walters, and Russell Crowe, to name but a few. There was also a massive wedding cake that spanned 70 inches and was covered in flowers. And the beautiful bride? She was also dressed in only the finest Vera Wang wedding gowns and, I have to say, I’m no fashionista but that is one fabulous dress! People has all the details (or at least those that the couple is willing to release),
“As her official wedding photos reveal, Ivanka Trump was a stunning bride in her custom Vera Wang gown and diamonds from her own fine-jewelry collection.
Trump, 27, married Jared Kushner, 28, in a private Jewish ceremony at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, in front of 500 of their friends and family members. Among the star-studded guests were: Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Barbara Walters, Regis Philbin, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the current New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
The bride, the co-host of Celebrity Apprentice and a vice president at her father’s real estate company, and her new husband, who is the publisher of the New York Observer and an executive at the Kushner Companies, released few photos and kept most of the details of their wedding private. Donald Trump told PEOPLE he offered a simple toast to the couple: “Be happy and enjoy your life.”
The newlyweds, who are planning to honeymoon in Africa, did spend most of the night dancing. “It was a great wedding,” said the father-of-the-bride. “I’m very happy. They’re really a beautiful, smart couple. I think you’ll hear a lot of great things from them in the years to come.”
And what’s a great wedding without an “absolutely superb” cake? “The cake was amazing and just beautiful. It was 70 inches on the table with about 13 layers,” described the cake-maker Sylvia Weinstock. “Each layer was ringed with flowers. We had lisianthus, roses, peonies, Lilies of the Valley, baby’s breath – all in the coloring of whites, creams, pinks ivory and flush tones.”
As varied as the sugar decor was the flavor of the cake. “They had several flavors. They had chocolate, carrot, almond and yellow cake all in the multiple layered cake,” said Weinstock. “They had some 500 people so they wanted a variety.”
Congratulations to the happy couple! I’ve read many interviews that Ivanka had done all throughout their time dating and it seems that she really does have real feelings for Jared and that what they share probably goes way beyond the surface of just what we see. I really do think that these two may beat the odds of Hollywood marriages.
As an interesting side note, Ivanka couldn’t marry Jared until she converted to his religion, which is Judaism. You don’t hear of this often when it comes to celebrities getting married so it brings up the question: Would you convert to another religion to be with the one you loved?
