Chris Brown is Ready to Serve his Sentence

I really despise Chris Brown. And when you start hitting women, there’s no getting back into my good books. Not only did he beat Rihanna but for a long time it looked like he was going to get away with it. Now he has been given a sentence, a very light sentence, and he says that he’s ‘a hard worker.’ This is relevant because his sentence is to do things such as pick up garbage and clean graffiti. All of this comes to us via Brown’s interview on Larry King Live, which will air tonight.

During the interview Chris talks about many things including his strong work ethic, and how he just ‘can’t believe’ what he did to Rihanna. You and the rest of the world, Chris. No one can believe it. And hopefully, the world won’t forget it. Here’s a clip of the interview from Contact Music,

“Disgraced singer CHRIS BROWN is still struggling to come to terms with assaulting his ex-girlfriend RIHANNA following their headline-grabbing fight in February (09), admitting he “can’t believe” his own actions.
The fallen Kiss Kiss star has been sentenced to five years probation and six months of hard labour after pleading guilty to attacking Rihanna.
In his first televised interview since his arrest earlier this year, Brown confesses to U.S. talkshow host Larry King he remembers little about the events leading up to the violent altercation, which left the Bajan beauty battered and bruised.
The police report of the incident described how Brown threatened to kill Rihanna after repeatedly punching, biting and choking her as she struggled to get out of his car following a pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles.
A shocking police photo showing the full extent of Rihanna’s injuries leaked shortly after Brown’s arrest and the singer admits he feels ashamed whenever he sees the image.
Brown tells King, “When I look at it now, it’s just like, wow, I can’t – I can’t believe that – that actually happened.”
But the 20 year old is fast facing up to the consequences of his actions and is ready to begin his community sentence: “They want me to pick up trash, remove graffiti. I’m a hard worker. It’s something I’m willing to do… I made a mistake and it was just something that I have to live up and own (sic).”
Brown, who has also been ordered to stay away from his ex for five years, admits he’s still in love with Rihanna and finds it “difficult” seeing her linked to other men: “At the end of the day, I mean, we’re not together, so, if she’s happy, I’m cool.”

Is it just me, or has this whole appearance on Larry King seemed like more of a media stunt than Chris Brown wanting to man up to what he did. It comes 7 months after the assault. So people have had time to calm down and become desensitized to it. And, Chris has already released a You Tube video making a public apology. I think if Rihanna wanted to hear it, she’s had plenty of opportunity. But let’s be real. This has nothing to do with Rihanna. It’s all about Chris trying to do some damage control and win back some fans. Maybe he has a new album coming out soon. That would be a convenient time to do an apology tour.
