Reese’s Kids Keep Her Grounded

I love hearing kid stories. About the funny things they say and do because with kids, you just never know what’s going to come out of their mouths. And I love hearing Reese Witherspoon talk about her kids and tell her own kid stories because they are always so funny and so real! Parents magazine recently had an interview with the actress and mom and as always, Reese was good for sharing how her kids had a good laugh at her expense. From Gossip Girls,

“The Oscar-winning actress recently opened up to Parents magazine about a situation that occurred while taking her 9-year-old daughter Ava to see country star Carrie Underwood perform.
“She (Ava) said, ‘Mom I really appreciate you taking me to the concert, but will you please not embarrass me in front of Carrie Underwood by singing because she’s a real singer and you’re just, like a movie singer,” says Witherspoon about her daughter referring to her role as June Carter Cash in 2005’s “Walk the Line”.

Reese’s singing voice, even with the award for her role, has failed to impress her daughter. “I love to sing around the house and in the car, but my daughter hates it.”

But Witherspoon loves that they see her simply as a mom and not anything else. “Realizing you’re not anything special to the kids is always a great sort of reminder that you’re just a regular person,” she said about Ava and son Deacon, 5. “A regular embarrassing old mom.”

Yes, but to your children and to only your children, Reese. To the rest of us, you are still the blonde bombshell goddess who turns everything she touches to gold. One of the things that I love best about Reese Witherspoon is that she truly is a super mom who manages to balance it all. Big-time movie star, regular old mom, and hot girlfriend to Jake Gyllenhaal. Yep, she continues to prove that she will remain Hollywood’s ‘It’ girl for quite some time to come!
