Pink is Bisexual

And really, does this surprise anyone? While it does seem like it’s becoming the new trend in Hollywood to announce that you are gay, first with the not-so-surpring announcements made by the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Clay Aiken, this announcement by Pink is another that does not surprise me. And not that I think any less of her for it, it really bothers me the way she went about making her ‘announcement.’ Note that she does not specifically say that she is bisexual and does actually seem to be erring on the side of ‘I’m-still-straight-really’, if you’ve had relations of any kind with a woman, you’re bisexual. Once it’s done, it’s done and there’sno going back. Sort of like losing your virginity. This is what Celebitchy reported Pink as saying as she skirts around actually being honest with herself,

“The ‘So What’ singer – who split from her husband Carey Hart earlier this year – has had flings with women in the past, but would never completely give up men.

She said: “I’m not gay so I guess I would not try a relationship with a woman. I didn’t say I haven’t experimented but I love men too much to make it a permanent thing.”

See this just bothers me. It’s like she wants to be part of ‘the group’ by making this announcement, which was completely unnecessary anyway and then she hints around the issue but doesn’t really come forward. It just seems quite juvenile to me and I really expected more from a great artist like Pink, who has up until this point been nothing but honest.

I think Pink IS being honest with herself and being very careful not to anger the “gay community”. It’s not about her “wanting to be part of the group” as you say. Pink strikes me as the kind of person who doesn’t need a group and just lives her life putting it all out there. She readily admitted to experimenting so why would she hide if she thought she were truly bi or gay.

Some people define being bisexual as wanting a relationship with either sex. By those standards one drunken kiss with the same sex would not automatically make you bi or gay. There are degrees of attraction to consider and Pink feels that she is more attracted to men and doesn’t desire a relationship with a woman and I think that’s a fair statement. As a bisexual (someone who’s had relationships with both sexes), I’ve heard all kinds of definitions from straights & queers and I understand why Pink is being very clear about how she feels. Just because she doesn’t fit your definition doesn’t mean she’s skirting the issue. Only she can say who she’s truly attracted to.

I don’t know why you think she’s not being honest. Maybe that’s the way she feels right now. Why do you think she’s being dishonest? You go Pink.

I think the reason they think Pink is not being honest is because many stars hide behind the I’m bisexual tag so that their fans who don’t like Gays won’t desert them. These gals are never gay, they are always bi….even though they can’t hold a lasting relationship with a man or have had more girlfriends than they have had hot suppers. Why does a woman always have to be bi when a man can truly be gay and be a wonderous sucess? To feed men’s ego, to stay a star and to be comfortable – that’s why. Many of these gals are bi so I have no issue with that but a lot more of them are gay. Anyway it’s Pink’s life so whatever she wants to say or not say is her business.

It isn’t suprise to me about pink announced that she is bisexual. But finally anwser how and why . It seem that said you are gay and everyone accept. But I think it straight nasty two men or women together. Coming from a christian point of view this is wrong and God isn’t happy

“many stars hide behind the I’m bisexual tag so that their fans who don’t like Gays won’t desert them.”

Of course! Because homophobes are well known for differentiating between gay men, lesbians, and bi people, and for their warm acceptance of bisexuality…
