Wesley Snipes: Three Years In Prison! What?! Nooo!

wesleysnipes0425.jpgApparently due to tax crimes and attempts to commit tax fraud, Wesley Snipes has been sentenced to three years in a prison. Although the time he serves may not be exactly the hardest there is, it’s still pretty lengthy. Two other actors even tried to vouch for Snipes‘ character, but it made no effect whatsoever in the case. From InTouch:

“In a shocking turn of events, Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for willfully failing to file a tax return for three years. It was the maximum penalty sought by prosecutors and U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges handed down the harsh sentence because he said the actor exhibited a “history of contempt over a period of time” for U.S. tax laws. Despite letters from Woody Harrelson and Denzel Washington attesting to Wesley‘s good character, no leniency was granted to the actor. Wesley was acquitted in February of charges including felony tax fraud and conspiracy. He will remain free until notified that he had to surrender to authorities.”

wesley_snipes_mugshot.jpgPersonally, if I had the money and connections Snipes has, I’d be gone. In a country where there are no extradition laws. Not to mention, one of those little bitty places where they probably don’t even know what celebrities are, let alone who Wesley Snipes is. Run, Wesley, run!

Why should Mr. Snipes be jailed for not paying taxes when this government is not constitutionally assessing taxes to begin with? It is a shame that more American citizens do not protest our government’s illegal taxation of its citizens. If Mr. Snipe’s wealth and public persona cannot force citizens, or their supposedly “representative” leaders, to recognize the perverse tax system generated by a bloated, corporate led government then the rest of us are doomed. Maybe Mr. Snipes should simply incorporate himself and headquarter his earnings at an off-shore location like the blood-thirsty and tyrannical corporations currently running this Country into the ground do. Then, he could legally avoid any duties of citizenship. We should all be supporting Mr. Snipe’s battle against the unfair, unconstitutional, and corporate biased tax system we are currently enslaved by.

Are all comments deferred until “moderation” of the same has been accomplished or only those that smack of political opposition to currently held governmental views?

Good. Another black criminal is being held accountable for his contempt of the law. You’d think they’d be smarter. Messing with the IRS?

Snipes actually got lucky. He WAS part of a conspiracy to evade taxes. He should’ve gotten 8-10 years in prison.
